Lot 131: RARE TO FIND SOUVENIR TIE CLIP FROM THE RMS QUEEN ELIZABETH CIRCA 1950's

Great find and an original early souvenir from the period. It is a tie clip souvenir showing on it a picture of the vessel and the name. In great condition and not many seen around for sale.

[In 1968, the Queen Elizabeth was sold to a group of American businessmen from a company called The Queen Corporation (which was 85% owned by Cunard and 15% by them). The new company intended to operate the ship as a hotel and tourist attraction in Port Everglades, Florida, similar to the use of Queen Mary in Long Beach, California. Elizabeth, as she was now called, actually opened to tourists before Queen Mary (which opened in 1971) but it was not to last.]
