Very decorative sweet dish from the old steamship RMS Highland Corrie from the Nelson Line Shipping Company. It has a superb distinctive lace work pattern around the edge and is in a great condition and it has the ships name engraved in the centre with the size of the dish being 5" x 3" (14cm x 9.5cm). The vessel tragically sank in 1917 making this item a very old and rare piece.

[The British steamship the RMS Highland Corrie was torpedoed without warning on May 16 1917. Six members of the crew and two passengers were killed by the explosion. Besides a crew of 86 she carried 40 passengers, several of who were women.]
