Lot 139: VERY EARLY PIECE OF STEAMSHIP CHINA FROM THE ORIENT LINE
Piece of very early steamship china which is very old and dated circa 1900 and is a two-section preserve dish and is in very good condition. It is from The Orient Line and shows on the side a company coat of arms and the size is approx. 7" x 5" (18cm x 13cm).
[The Orient Steam Navigation Company, also known as the Orient Line, was a British shipping company with roots going back to the late 18th century. From the early 20th century onwards an association began with P&O that eventually culminated in the Orient Line being totally absorbed into that company in the 1960’s.]
